The importance of wedding photography

Hi guys,

Wedding photography is one of the most important parts of your wedding day because photos are one of the only tangible things left for you to enjoy after your wedding day is over! With all of the packages at Meander Gatherings, you are going to get a set amount of time for wedding photographs. That’s because we believe in how important it is for every one of our couples to have beautiful photos of their micro wedding! Along with running Meander Gatherings, I am also a wedding photographer. Most importantly, I am the photographer who photographs all of the Meander Gatherings micro weddings!

Today I want to talk to you guys about the parts of the wedding day that you can have photographed and what you can expect to have in a photo gallery with your package. Think of wedding photography as a documentation of your entire day. We typically think of the photos of the couple getting married and family photos, but there are so many other moments during your day that you’ll want to look back on. Here is a breakdown of all the parts of a day that I think are important to have captured.

1. Before the ceremony

Think about all the details that you’ve selected for your wedding day and the sweet moments happening before you say “I do.” Photos of your wedding dress, your something blue, borrowed, old and new, and florals are pieces of your day that you put time and thought into. You should be able to enjoy them for longer than just a day! Same goes for all the sweet moments that happen before a ceremony like the way your dad looks at you right before you walk down the aisle or the moment you share with your mom as you put your dress on.

2. After the ceremony

Of course we also capture the ceremony! But what about signing your marriage license, hugging people after you walk down the aisle, and the big group shots of everyone? You also can’t forget the formal family photos. Those are moments that we make sure to photograph!

3. Reception time

After you’ve gotten married (woo hoo, it’s official!) it's time to party! We make sure to capture photos of the first dance, the toasts, sharing your cupcake together, you and your bridal party, and most importantly, the photos of the two of you together.

Along with having all of the moments photographed, we will time it all out for you with your micro wedding package. We know how long family photos and bridal party photos take and will help you plan your time for it.

Above all, we want you to know that we understand how important your wedding day is. This exact day only happens once in a lifetime! You deserve to be able to look back on it over and over again and remember all of the small and big moments, because they are all important.

Contact us today to get started with your own micro wedding package and to talk about how photography will fit into your day!
