An Interview with the Officiants for Small Weddings with Meander Gatherings | Small Wedding
We here at Meander gatherings roll with several officiants for our small wedding services. We wanted to give everyone a glimpse into the ceremonies and how we get you hitched! So, we decided to interview one of our officiants so you can get the low-down. Let’s jump right in!
Is the script personalized?
“Yes, we have 12 to choose from and they can all be personalized and customized. We have enough to cover just about any type of ceremony the couple wants. And, if we don’t, we can always add to our list!”
How long does the ceremony for a small wedding last?
“Depending on if there is a sand ceremony or handwritten vows, it can vary. A guestimate is about 10 minutes. There is an art to keeping it short but still meaningful when you’re going through a micro or small wedding.”
What do you wear to officiate?
“I will always wear something professional that will not clash with bride and groom attire. Generally, it’s all black, but there can be some variety here and there, if the bride and groom desire it.”
Is there a back up officiant to step in if necessary?
“Yes! There is always someone who wants to step in and help people get married! We love love!”
Do you have any messages or things you’d like a couple to know?
“Absolutely! This is a pretty important part of the marriage process that could take awhile if you’re not prepared. Please have the marriage license ready for the officiant when he or she arrives. This way it can be pre-filled out to take considerably less time. Because after signing, the bride and groom can go on to mingling and taking more photos! If you don’t have it pre-filled out, you miss out on this valuable time in your small wedding! Also, know who your 2 witnesses will be and make sure they know to find you right after the ceremony to sign the marriage certificate! They get to make it official and actually be a part of the ceremony too!
